Welcome. I am Lucy (she/her), a registered member of the BACP and working online, but centred in the West Midlands: includes the 3 counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
About me and my practice
I believe everyone is unique in their lived experiences and so to accommodate this I work to tailor my approach and interventions to suit you as an individual, within your particular circumstances.
Reaching out for a counsellor who listens without judgement and provides a space to explore your lived experiences is the minimal you would expect from me. The important part of your counselling journey is the relationship we build together on respect, trust and understanding.
It may be difficult sometimes to express what you are experiencing verbally and identify what you are feeling. If this is you, then I am happy to offer creative ways of working to enable other suitable forms of expression.
I am especially interested in working with women's and men's issues, trauma and abuse, and 'social graces' that may gravely affect issues linked to personal identity.
Experience
I am a person-centred counsellor and have experience working with children, young people and adults. With this client range, I really understand the impact on young people and adults in different areas of their lives, having experienced adversities in childhood and not ready until now to receive help, with empathy and understanding.
I am also a qualified teacher, having worked for just over 15 years in schools and recently in further education. This has enhanced my skills and knowledge and can therefore provide psycho-education to enable clients to explore their own resources and make informed decisions, whether this is counselling, coaching or a combined approach.
I am here to enable you to exact change that is appropriate for you as an individual, at your pace.
